Residential Roofing
Most houses have more than one kind of roof. A typical New Jersey home might have an asphalt shingle main roof, a low-slope rubber section over the porch or a rear addition, and a few dormers and valleys in between. Residential roofing means handling all of those as one system, along with the gutters that carry their water away.

Roof types on a house
Pitched roofs are usually asphalt shingle, with architectural shingles on most new installs. Metal roofs are a longer-lasting option for a whole house or an accent like a porch or bay window. Low-slope sections over porches, additions, dormers and garages use membranes, most often an EPDM rubber roof, sometimes TPO. Each has its own installation details, and the places where they meet are where most leaks start.
Repair or replace
A roof with a few damaged shingles, a failed pipe boot or a leak at one flashing usually needs a repair. A roof with worn shingles across every slope, leaks in several places or soft decking usually needs replacement. The inspection during a free estimate looks at the shingles, flashing, ventilation, decking where it can be seen from the attic, and the gutters, and you get a plain recommendation.
Ventilation and ice dams
Many homes in the area have attics that were never vented well. Without airflow, summer heat cooks the shingles from below and winter heat melts snow on the upper roof, which refreezes at the cold eaves as ice dams. A roof replacement is the natural time to correct this with ridge and soffit vents, and to lay ice-and-water membrane along the eaves. Clean, well-pitched gutters keep meltwater moving off the edge.
One visit for the roof and gutters
If your gutters are older or undersized, a roof replacement is the most practical time to replace them, because the fascia is exposed and can be repaired first and the new gutters can be set to the new drip edge. Having one company handle both also avoids two crews pointing at each other if water ends up behind the gutter. Book a free estimate to have both looked at.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
6 questions and answers in 4 topics: Pricing, Process, Warranty, Service area.
Pricing
How do I get a quote?
Call (888) 611-3987 or request a free estimate online. The office is open Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Process
How do I know how old my roof is?
Home purchase paperwork, permits from the town and the previous owner are the usual sources. If none exist, the condition of the shingles gives an estimator a reasonable sense of where the roof is in its life.
Do you handle the flat section over my porch too?
Yes. Low-slope sections are part of most residential jobs and are often replaced at the same time as the main roof so every edge and wall joint is tied in together.
Will you need to take my gutters down?
For a full replacement, often yes, so the drip edge and eave membrane can be installed properly. Sound gutters are reinstalled and checked for pitch, or new ones are installed if the old ones are failing.
