Cost guide

Gutter Repair Cost in NJ

Most gutter repairs are priced per job. The table below lists New Jersey market ranges for the common repairs; fascia repair is priced by the linear foot. These notes explain why two similar repairs can land at different points in a range.

Price ranges for gutter repair

Researched New Jersey market ranges, gathered from published contractor price guides and national cost surveys in October 2026. They are not our quote: your price comes from a free on-site estimate, and we will replace these ranges with our own rates.

  • Gutter repair, typical job: $150 to $650 per job, typically about $354
  • Reseal leaking seam / joint / end cap: $100 to $300 per job, typically about $163
  • Re-pitch gutter run to drain to downspouts: $200 to $450 per job, typically about $325
  • Refasten / rehang sagging gutter: $150 to $350 per job, typically about $250
  • Repair or replace a pulled-away downspout: $100 to $300 per job, typically about $200
  • Replace a dented or corroded gutter section: $200 to $500 per job, typically about $350
  • Fascia repair behind gutters: $2 to $20 per linear foot, typically about $13

The type of repair

Resealing a seam or end cap is the smallest job in the table, with a typical price of $163. Rehanging a sagging run and fixing a pulled downspout are a step up. Re-pitching a run and replacing a dented or corroded section involve taking gutter down and putting it back, so they sit higher. The general repair row covers typical jobs that combine a few of these and tops out at $650.

How many spots and how high

A single leaking corner on a one-story home is quick. Four leaking joints spread around a three-story house mean more ladder moves and more time at height. Several repairs done in one visit usually cost less than the same repairs spread over separate visits, because setup is shared.

What is behind the gutter

Fascia condition can change a repair price more than anything else. If the board behind the gutter is rotted, it has to be replaced before the gutter is refastened, and that work is priced per foot. A good estimate will probe the wood and say up front whether fascia work is likely, rather than finding it halfway through the job.

How to read a repair quote

  • Each repair listed separately, with its location on the house.
  • Fascia repair shown in linear feet, if any is needed.
  • Whether a cleaning is included before the repair.
  • What hangers and sealant will be used.
  • Whether the repaired runs are water-tested afterward.

When repairs stop being the cheaper choice

One or two repairs on a sound system are good value. A list of five or six, on gutters that are thin, corroded or past their expected life, often adds up close to the price of new gutters, and the next failure is not far behind. Compare the total against the gutter installation cost guide before deciding, or book a free estimate and ask for both.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

4 questions and answers.

Why does a seam reseal cost less than a re-pitch?

Resealing works on one joint and leaves the gutter in place. Re-pitching means loosening a whole run, marking a new line and resetting every hanger, which takes far more time.

Is fascia repair always needed with a sagging gutter?

No. Many sags come from loose spikes in sound wood and only need new hangers. Fascia work is needed only where the wood is soft or crumbling and will not hold a fastener.

Can I save by combining repairs?

Yes. Doing several repairs in one visit shares the setup and ladder time, which usually lowers the total compared with calling for each problem as it appears. A cleaning in the same visit saves another trip.

Does the repair price include cleaning?

Not always. A clogged gutter has to be cleared before most repairs, so ask whether the quote includes it or lists it separately. Clearing the gutter also shows whether the repair fixed the flow.
